Sophisticated Kitchen Renovation: Evanston, IL
The Design Goal: Modern Flow and Luminous Accents
The objective for this Evanston home was to dismantle the traditional, compartmentalized kitchen layout and replace it with a high-functioning transitional space.
The homeowners wanted to remove the restrictive peninsula and soffits to create a seamless connection with the dining area. The design prioritized a neutral, sophisticated color palette that would maximize natural light and provide a timeless backdrop for both daily family life and entertaining.
The Solution: A Precision Transitional Build-Out
Maya Construction Group, led by owners Udi Yeger and Ofer Gliksman, executed a full structural and aesthetic overhaul. We removed the dividing peninsula and overhead soffits to open the floor plan, installing a new central island that serves as both a prep station and a social hub.
By combining crisp white shaker cabinetry with soft gray accents and premium stone surfaces, we achieved a balanced, “bright-and-airy” atmosphere that completely redefines the home’s main level.
