The Challenge: Aging Fixtures and Outdated Surfaces
The original bathroom on Bell Ave. featured dated beige wall tiles and a standard tub-shower combination that no longer met the homeowner’s needs. Because the house is an older Chicago structure, the space required a full teardown to ensure the underlying plumbing and framing were sound before any modern updates could be made.
The Solution: A Foundation-Up Renovation
Maya Construction Group, led by owners Udi Yeger and Ofer Gliksman, managed a total teardown of the existing space. We stripped the bathroom to its structural framing to update the plumbing rough-ins and ensure the room was properly vented. We then installed a large double vanity and converted the old tub area into a spacious walk-in shower with a built-in bench for improved comfort and utility.

Full Gut Renovation: The room was stripped to the studs to allow for complete plumbing and electrical system updates.
Custom Walk-In Shower: Features a frameless glass enclosure, a built-in tiled bench, and a large recessed wall niche.
Double Vanity Upgrade: A large white shaker-style cabinetry unit with light gray stone countertops and dual under-mount sinks.
Specialty Lighting: Includes modern brass wall sconces and integrated LED toe-kick lighting beneath the vanity for nighttime visibility.
Designer Tiling: Textured gray Zellige-style wall tiles in the shower area paired with geometric patterned floor tile.
Premium Fixtures: Coordinated brass faucets, shower hardware, and arched mirror frames used throughout the space.
The Result
